hale's angels

Hi friends.  Sorry I’ve been gone so long!

It’s been so wonderful blogging for the last 5 years.

I have met some really amazing people that I would have never met otherwise.

But it’s time to shut it down.

I have finished printing all of my journaling from this blog and my old one through Blurb (super cool, by the way!).

From now on, I plan to journal and print with MacBooks (also super cool!).

But if you need to find me you can hop on over to For the Love.

Don’t be a stranger!  :-)

Greg Olsen is an INCREDIBLY gifted painter!

He paints the most breathtaking portraits of Christ.

My favorite is O Jerusalem.

My boys have this copy of The Sacred Grove in their room.

Anyway, we have lived in this neighborhood almost a year now.

On our very first Sunday here I was shocked to sit down in Sunday School and see him teaching our class.

So cool!

Even cooler….Quincy got to go with the scouts to his art studio to work on his Art Achievement Award recently.

My budding little artist was beyond excited!

The Olsen family are such friendly neighbors.

They have a daughter that is Brooklyn’s age.

I’m considering an arranged mairrage.

And yet, I came home with these guys….

You can count on ducks for several things

1. They poop A LOT!

2. They stink A LOT!

3. They love to get in the bathtub.

4.  They’re freaking cute. A LOT!

Sadly, this is a short term arrangement.

My dog Ruby hasn’t quit drooling/pacing/whining since we brought them home.

In a few weeks they’ll go live with Katie’s Dad and protect his garden from pests and bugs.

Hudson had a birthday this month.

I can’t believe my baby is 3!

I’m trying to soak up every bit of this kid.

The other day he told me that I have gorgeous eyeballs.

We have so much fun speding the entire day together every day.

He is growing up way too fast. They all are!

I didn’t get too many pics on his birthday.  But here’s a few of my favorites….

Every St. Patricks day I used to make these cupcakes for my kids.

But now these are officially Hudson’s birthday cake.

They are beyond yummy!

Pistachio Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

1 3/4C flour

2 1/2t baking powder

2/3C sugar

1/2t salt

small box pistachio pudding

2 beaten eggs

1/2C oil

1 1/4C milk

1t vanilla

34C mini chocolate chips

Mixing by hand, stir together dry ingredients.  In a seperate bowl, mix wet ingredients.  Combine wet and dry (by hand, not a mixer)  just until combined.  Add chocolate chips.  Bake at 375 for 18 minutes.  Let cool.  Frost with cream cheese or chocolate frosting.

And don’t wait until next St. Patty’s day to make these :-)

Roan was baptized on Saturday.

Even though it was a gloomy and cold morning it was a beautiful day for our family!

We weren’t sure if  Brook would be feeling better in time but he managed just fine.

Although you can see by the lack of color in his face and meat on his bones that he’s had a pretty rough couple of weeks.

In our new ward we are able to create our own programs for the occasion (which I loved!)

Brooklyn did the most amazing job on his talk.

He didn’t want any help at all.

His talk was very heart felt and sincere.

He had scripture references, beautiful pictures, a poem and his own testimony.

So proud of him!

Then we heard a talk from Brook’s Dad that was wonderful and brought everyone to tears.

He’s such a wonderful man!  My kids are ever so lucky to have such a Grandfather.

And in closing our Bishop stood for a moment to address Roan specifically with some very brief but incredibly moving words.

Wow, he’s an incredible man.  I hope he’s our Bishop forever!

As my Mom said the closing prayer you could hear quiet sniffles throughout the entire room.

After the baptism everyone came back to our home for some breakfast.

And the only picture I remembered to take was of the food, dang it!

It’s a little too busy to host and photograph at the same time.

A baptism only happens once in your life.

I hope Roan will remember this day forever.

I know I certainly will!
